EXCLUSIVE: CAA has signed Ella Bright, the female lead of the hit romantic drama series Off Campus and upcoming comedy Narcs.
Bright’s profile has risen quickly with the success of Off Campus, a romantic drama series from Prime Video based on the bestselling book series from Elle Kennedy, where she stars opposite Belmont Cameli. The show has her playing Hannah Wells, an aspiring songwriter navigating college life and a complicated romance with its star hockey player.
Off Campus attracted 36 million viewers worldwide in its first 12 days, thereby bringing Amazon its third most-watched series debut of all time, behind only The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power and Fallout. In addition to starring in the series, Bright has performed and recorded several songs for its soundtrack, including “Baby Now That I Found You,” featuring Niall Horan, and “Girl That I Am,” written by Amy Allen. She recently wrapped filming the show’s second season, along with Gable, an indie true-life wrestling drama where she stars alongside Finn Cole and Ben Foster.
Off of the heat on Off Campus, Bright just inked to star opposite Mason Thames in the coming-of-age comedy Narcs, which will mark her first studio lead.
Previously, the actress has been seen playing a young Kate Middleton on Netflix’s The Crown and starring in seven seasons of the British television series Malory Towers, for which she earned nominations at both the BAFTA Children’s Awards and the Children’s & Family Emmy Awards. She appears opposite Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly in the comedy Holmes & Watson and made her West End debut in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in 2017.
Bright continues to be represented by Prime Talent Media, Accelerate in the UK, Derek Kroeger at Myman Greenspan, and Viewpoint.
