A group of youths comprising artisans and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) owners under the umbrella of “Great Aba Men” in Abia State has declared support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu.
The declaration was made during a courtesy visit to the Deputy Speaker at his country home in Bende on Saturday.
Speaking on behalf of the group, its leader, Prince Okwudiri Uche, said Abia youths will give President Tinubu the highest number of votes in the South East in the 2027 presidential election.
He said: “From today, we have declared for Mr. President. We will support Mr. President and Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu. Asiwaju is the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“There is no way we will have the Deputy Speaker of this federation from Abia State, supported by Mr. President, and not return the President. It will not happen. Rt. Hon. Sir, we will make you proud because we will deliver President Tinubu. Abia youths will make it happen. He will go for a second term. Aba people will not let you down”.
The group, which congratulated the Deputy Speaker on his appointment as Director-General II (South) of the PBAT/APC Presidential Campaign Council, requested him to serve as its Grand Patron.
It also revealed plans to organize a one-million-man march for President Tinubu in Aba.
In his remarks, Kalu commended the group for declaring support for President Tinubu and himself.
He noted the President’s love for the people of the South East, particularly Abia State, stating that the President who supported a son of Abia to emerge as Deputy Speaker deserves to be repaid with gratitude.
“From today, you have become Mr. President’s foot soldiers and will take the message of Renewed Hope to every nook and cranny of Aba. I declare you the sons of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We are starting a movement that will go beyond January 16, 2026,” Kalu said.
He promised to support the group with a campaign bus for the planned march, charging them to mobilize across the State and take the message of Renewed Hope Agenda to the hinterlands.
“Every street will come out to show that we are supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. In Bende, the President will harvest all the votes because the Deputy Speaker is from this Local Government. So, go and put up your strategy. We will show that Great Aba Men are behind the President. We must make sure the President wins in Aba. I want you to be very visible in Aba and take over Aba. Let’s comb the city to announce our presence,” he said.
