DVAC seize unaccounted cash from government offices in Salem and Namakkal

Sleuths of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) seized unaccounted cash at a zonal office in Salem Corporation and from the Namakkal Corporation office.

Across the State, on Friday evening (October 23, 2026), DVAC officials conducted search in various government offices. In Salem Corporation, the officials began their search at 4 p.m. at the Sooramangalam zonal office, which continued for over 15 hours, ending on Saturday morning (October 24, 2026). During the search, the officials seized ₹15,000 in unaccounted cash from the office. The officials also found suspected UPI payments to the tune of ₹32 lakh and are investigating further.

Similarly, the officials also raided the Namakkal Corporation office until the wee hours of Saturday. During the raid, the officials seized ₹27,000 in cash and found a suspicious UPI transaction worth ₹1 lakh and are investigating further.
