Colombo, Oct. 20 (Daily Mirror) - Highlighting that a number of tuskers including Kandula, Walagamba, Dathusena and Genghis Khan have been killed during the recent past, opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa told Parliament today that time has come to stop this culture.
He said tusker Kawantissa had threats and was shot several times and questioned on the step taken to safeguard the animal.
Also he questioned the medicine used and other treatment given to Kawantissa.
He said the person who apprehended those who shot Kawantissa is to be removed from his job.
