Controversial Nigerian pastor Odumeje revealed how he met his wife, saying the Holy Spirit led him to her.
The Anambra-born pastor, while appearing on a recent episode on Honest Bunch Podcast, explained that he initially didn’t think he would get married because of his spiritual calling.
“I don’t believe that I would get married because of that kind spirit,” he said.
“But when a lot of criticism came that my not being married was attached to my power, I didn’t want that to stain the power that Jesus gave me.”
The cleric explained that he later had a divine experience in which “God showed me a ring,” which he took as a sign it was time to get married.
Odumeje said he had no one in mind at first and was surprised when “God gave me specific directions” on where to find his partner. He mentioned that he first drove past the street before “God instructed me to turn back”.
“One day, I came back, and God showed me. I was in my room, and the Lord showed me a ring. When he showed me, he signified that it was time,” he said.
“I was in my room, lying down. On that day, I had come back from family deliverance. The Lord said to me, ‘Stand up, pick your car and drive to three streets.
“God said I should look into the second street. ‘You will see your wife; your wife will be coming out.’ Then I carried my car.
“I picked my car and moved, then passed the street, and God said, ‘You have passed there. Turn back.’ Immediately I turned, I saw my wife coming out from that street.”
