Irish singer-songwriter Ronan Keating and his Australian-born wife Storm, have lodged DA plans with council for their renovated 1920s beach cottage in Tamarama.
The five-bedroom, four-bathroom home on an elevated parcel was bought under Storm’s name for $6.3 million in March, records show. It’s understood to be an investment property for Storm, a TV producer, model and media personality, who shares two kids with Ronan.
Plans lodged with council this month reveal the construction of a new three-storey, four-bedroom dwelling with a gym, playroom and pool by Nicholas Tang Architects and landscaping by Fulton McNair Landscape Architects. Finishes are to include timber-look cladding and off-form concrete.
The architectural plans state that the current building fabric is structurally unsound and as such, the DA proposes a new residence.
In March at the time of purchase, it was understood that Storm would extensively renovate the home and make it more carbon-friendly, like the Keatings’ carbon-neutral residence in London. Ronan returned as a coach this year on Channel Seven’s The Voice Australia, alongside Melanie C, Richard Marx, Kate Miller-Heidke and Tones and I.
“Storm is a proud Aussie and loves Australia,” one local source said in March at the time of the sale.
“She was particularly drawn to this property as it captures the very best of the Australian lifestyle – direct access to the beach, a sense of privacy and seclusion, and a unique, almost treehouse feel, overlooking Tamarama Beach.”
Records show the previous vendor, Michaela Klaiber, paid $1.73 million in 2010 for the two-level treehouse. Klaiber renovated the property, which consists of a three-bedroom primary residence and a two-bedroom garden apartment, to feature limewashed American oak floors, a coastal white palette and statement lighting.
It’s understood buyer’s agents Leon Jacques and Zoe Tack of Aurum Advisory represented the couple, and Alexander Phillips and Vince Licata, now at Ray White Phillips & Co, sold the address.
Double Bay pad for sale
Billionaire property pioneer Charlotte Vidor AM, the wife of the late Ervin Vidor AM, has listed their Double Bay penthouse with a price guide of $21 million.
Charlotte co-founded the Toga property development group with Ervin and Antonino Stillone in 1963. Their first venture was two blocks of nine units in Glebe, and the company has become one of the largest property developers in Sydney today.
Records show the Vidors bought the three-bedroom, three-bathroom, whole-floor residence for $8.2 million in 2020, paying the sum to their company, Toga Double Bay Developments Pty Ltd. Ervin, who died aged 92 in 2025, was listed as a director of the Double Bay company from 2014 to 2024, on ASIC records.
Charlotte also owns a home in Vaucluse, purchased for $3.15 million in 1991, records show.
The apartment for sale features marble floors, a main bedroom with a private terrace, a home office or fourth bedroom, stacking glass doors and a north-facing terrace. There is lift access.
Elliott Placks of Ray White Double Bay, who holds the listing alongside Thomas Popple, described the pad as “an incredible apartment that offers over 350 square metres of internal and external living. It’s so rare to have a residence this size, all on one level in Double Bay.”
Charlotte made The Australian Financial Review’s 2026 Rich List with an estimated wealth of $1.54 billion. She was inducted into The Australian Property Hall of Fame by the Property Council of Australia in 2024, and is described as a “pioneer of the serviced apartments industry”.
The Toga group of companies include Toga Development and Construction, Toga Far East Hotels and Toga Property Investment.
Agents are accepting expressions of interest.
Late governor’s home for sale
The home of NSW’s longest-serving governor, the late Sir Arthur Roden Cutler – Rohaven at Lake Eucumbene in the Snowy Mountains – has been offered to the market with a price guide of $950,000, a price that seems rare these days.
Sir Cutler and his first wife, the late Lady Helen Cutler, bought the site and enlisted architecture firm Pollitt, Malcolm and Bell to design the four-bedroom, two-bathroom abode in 1967. It was completed the following year and Lady Helen Cutler developed the garden.
The two-storey country villa that overlooks the lake was Cutler’s retreat away from the formalities of Government House. Cutler was governor from 1966 to 1981, and died aged 85 in 2002. Lady Helen Cutler died aged 67 in 1990.
“Rohaven reveals the personal side of Sir Cutler’s life, expressed through modern architecture and a love of fly fishing,” said Marcus Lloyd-Jones of Modern House Estate Agents, who is selling the home.
“For a family so closely associated with public life, Rohaven tells a wonderful private family story: a place to return to, fish and spend time together. This house introduces us to Sir Roden the fly fisher and family man in an alpine landscape that drew the family back year after year.”
Interiors feature timber panelling, clinker brick and a colour palette of greens and grey. The late couple’s son, Mark Cutler, retained the original floorplan and made modest changes.
