Mikel Arteta believes Kai Havertz has the quality to score 20 to 25 goals in a season for Arsenal if he is given a consistent run of games.
The Germany international has established himself as first-choice striker this season, and Arteta says his potential in front of goal was one of the reasons Arsenal signed him.
“I think he has, yeah,” Arteta said when asked whether Havertz could reach the 20-25 goal mark.
“That’s why he’s playing there as well, and that’s why we signed him.
“I think he has it, and he needs that volume of games and action.
“If you give him that, I’m a big believer that, yes, he can do that.”
Arteta also highlighted Havertz’s intelligence as one of his biggest strengths, particularly for a player operating as a striker.
“His football IQ, it’s something else,” he said.
“He understands everything at such a speed, and he can process information better than probably anybody else in the team.
“And that’s something not easy to see, especially when you talk about a striker.”
