The New England Patriots are starting to look like the team that powered its way through the regular season last year and finished with a 14-3 record. On Sunday, after all, the team of head coach Mike Vrabel celebrated a 45-17 blowout win of the Las Vegas Raiders that saw the team fire on all cylinders offensively and defensively.
Unsurprisingly, that performance has also shaped the odds for upcoming game with the New York Jets. According to FanDuel Sportsbook, New England opens as 7.5-point favorites at home.
Odds for Patriots vs. Jets in NFL Week 6
- Spread: Patriots -7.5
- Moneyline: Patriots -375 | Jets +300
- Over/under: 44.5
The Patriots being regarded as big favorites is particularly impressive given that they are not the only team participating in the Week 6 matchup coming off a win. The Jets themselves celebrated their second victory of the season on Sunday, beating a Cleveland Browns team that previously owned a 3-1 record with a final score of 17-12. And yet, their outlook against their division rivals is anything but rosy based on the odds.
Kickoff between Patriots and Jets is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, Oct. 18 at Gillette Stadium.
