RTX 5070 Ti, 32 GB RAM: Powerful gaming laptop with 165 Hz display gets huge $701 discount

Thanks to an attractive $701 discount, the RTX 5070 Ti-powered Gigabyte Gaming A16 Pro gaming laptop is now available for just around $1,449 on Walmart. The laptop also comes equipped with an Intel Core 7 240H CPU paired with 32 GB of RAM, as well as 1 TB storage.

According to our in-depth review of the A16 Pro gaming laptop, the product performs well enough in most scenarios, but clearly lags behind similarly specced competitors owing to its comparatively slim chassis. Folks who prioritize portability will definitely be quite happy with this system.

Gigabyte A16 Pro: Slim gaming laptop with 32 GB RAM and respectable performance

The 10-core Intel Core 7 240H puts up decent numbers in synthetic benchmarks, managing to keep up with older mid-range mobile CPUs such as the Ryzen 7 8745HS. In fact, we found that the CPU performs almost identically to the Core i7 13620H found in the non-Pro A16, which is quite disappointing.

That said, the 32 GB of LPDDR5x-5600 RAM makes it excellent for multitasking and memory-intensive workloads, although the lack of upgradeability is undeniably quite upsetting.

The 16-inch IPS display features a resolution of 2560 x 1600, and covers 99.3% of the sRGB color gamut. The panel sports a peak refresh rate of 165 Hz, and a peak brightness of around 517 nits. Color accuracy is excellent, and we did not have any complaints with the gaming laptop's overall display performance.

GPU performance also trails its peers, but not by a lot. Our 3DMark results indicate only a slight downgrade compared to the class average for Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Laptop-equipped gaming laptops. The 12 GB of GDDR7 VRAM is also a healthy upgrade over the non-Ti variant.

Real-life gaming performance is acceptable, but nothing quite worth writing home about, considering that our review unit only managed to outperform the RTX 5070-powered Nitro v17 by around 4%, while lagging behind the much chunkier Acer Helios Neo 16S by around 18%.

At its current discounted price, the Gigabyte Gaming A16 Pro laptop offers a healthy set of features, especially when the current market situation is taken into consideration. Interested folks are definitely advised to refer to our detailed review of the laptop before making up their minds.
