Spotify may not be a dedicated podcast platform, but it is launching a big new feature in podcast memberships that let you support your favorite shows in exchange for added perks.
Available starting today, Spotify podcast memberships work similarly to Patreon and other membership programs. Hosts can create support tiers with a monthly fee that deliver perks to their audience and, in turn, support the show.
Spotify says examples of what creators can provide in these memberships include “exclusive audio or video, bonus episodes, fewer ads, early access, access to a show’s archive” and more. Multiple tiers can be created and pricing is customizable.
Shows launching membership programs today include The Adam Friedland Show, Making Sense with Sam Harris, The Shawn Ryan Show, The Sculpt Society, Two Hot Takes, and 12 shows across the YMH Studios network.

Creators keep 90% of the revenue generated by memberships.
Spotify podcast memberships are available in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK, and the US to start.
