Kyren Williams was not happy with his season-low 13 touches to the ball after the Los Angeles Rams’ 18-16 upset loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday afternoon.
Williams has been playing in the NFL since 2022, going through his fifth season with the Rams. He embraced the starting job in 2023 and never looked back, enjoying great campaigns in the potent attack featuring Matthew Stafford and Puka Nacua.
However, he didn’t have the high activity in Los Angeles’ game against Arizona. He only racked up 10 carries for 50 yards while catching three passes for 17 yards. The star rusher reflected on his performance after the game, expressing frustration about the lack of usage, per reporter Sarah Barshop.

“Kyren Williams was asked why he thought the team couldn’t sustain the energy drive to drive,” Barshop wrote.
“Can’t tell you, bro. Probably because I’m not out there,” Williams said.
How Kyren Williams, Rams played against Cardinals
Kyren Williams knows he is more than capable of performing at a high level. He just needs the Rams to count on him for that, which they didn’t do in their loss to the Cardinals.
Los Angeles massively underperformed on the offensive side of the ball. Against an Arizona squad where they were the heavy favorites, the hosts couldn’t create more touchdown drives or take advantage of errors that the Cardinals would make.
Matthew Stafford was active with his passing, but he didn’t give the usual high attention to his star receivers. He completed 25 out of 33 passes for 222 yards and two touchdowns.
Blake Corum was a bright spot in the offense, having nine carries for 42 yards while catching two passes for 18 yards and a touchdown. Puka Nacua led receivers with six catches for 80 yards, while Davante Adams caught three passes for 39 yards. Meanwhile, Colby Parkinson had five receptions for 31 yards and a touchdown.
The Rams will look to bounce back in their next matchup, being on the road. They take on the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 7 as kickoff commences on Oct. 25 at 4:25 p.m. ET.
