The Women, Family and Community Development Ministry is ready to offer counselling services to 300 female students affected by AI-edited nude images in Seremban.
GEORGE TOWN: The Women, Family and Community Development Ministry (KPWKM) is prepared to provide counselling services to 300 female students who were victims of AI-edited nude images in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan.
Its minister, Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri, said KPWKM has several agencies that provide counselling services, including the National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN), the Social Welfare Department (JKM) and the National Welfare Foundation (YKN).
She said that although the ministry had not established any specific collaboration in relation to the case, it would assess the need to take appropriate action.
“We are open to those who wish to approach us. If we were to seek them out ourselves, it would take some time, and identifying them would be difficult because of the AI-generated images, which make it challenging to determine who the victims are.
“We want to inform their families in particular that if they require counselling from the ministry, we have certified counsellors available,” she told reporters after officiating at the Pink CaRe Campaign: 2026 National Breast Cancer Awareness Month Celebration at the Penang Waterfront Convention Centre (PWCC) here today.
Nancy was commenting on media reports alleging that more than 300 female secondary school students in the Seremban district had fallen victim to the use of AI technology to edit their images into nude pictures.
The images, which are understood to have been intended to humiliate the victims, were reportedly circulated among students at the school and allegedly sold through the Telegram application.
