The company also cited the need to connect new customers and to replace power infrastructure in areas undergoing road construction as additional reasons for the planned outage.
The interruption will begin at 9am and is expected to conclude by 5pm, giving a window of eight hours during which affected residents and businesses will be without power supply.
Kenya Power released a specific list of locations across four counties, including Nairobi and Kiambu, that fall within the scope of the planned maintenance work.
Residents and businesses in the listed areas are advised to make alternative arrangements for the duration of the outage and to ensure that sensitive electrical equipment is disconnected ahead of the scheduled maintenance window.
