If ever Manchester City needed a hero, it was always going to be Erling Haaland.
The Manchester club were completely swept aside by Paris Saint-Germain in the first half of their Champions League clash at the Etihad Stadium.
A quickfire double from Désiré Doué and Ousmane Dembélé, followed by a third from Vitinha left the current European champions cruising at half-time.
However, a different City side emerged after the break and the visitors have been very much on the back foot.
Haaland handed City a lifeline to make it 3-1 with a bullet header in the 53rd minute.
In doing so, he surpasses club legend Sergio Agüero to become their all-time top goalscorer in the Champions League.
He also becomes the fastest player in Champions League history to score 60 goals.
Unfortunately for City, though, it may mean very little on the night as they missed an opportunity to make it 3-2 a few minutes later.
Then, PSG punished them for not taking their chances and a mistake from Gianluigi Donnarumma gifted Maghnes Akliouche a goal.
Haaland then made it 4-2 with 15 minutes left to play, so is the comeback still on?
