Vesia posted the message on Instagram, reflecting on the personal challenges he faced while thanking his teammates and the Dodgers faithful for their support.
“By far the hardest year of my career,” Vesia wrote. He also acknowledged his struggles with confidence, expectations and the mental highs and lows that came with the season.
The left-handed reliever added that he did not know what the future held but wanted to thank Dodger Nation for showing him so much love over the past six years.
Alex Vesia’s Dodgers Future Remains Uncertain After Strong Season
Vesia’s message comes after the Dodgers’ postseason run ended in a four-game sweep by the Milwaukee Brewers in the National League Championship Series. Los Angeles had hoped to capture a third consecutive World Series title but now faces important offseason decisions.
Despite the difficult year, Vesia remained productive on the mound. He recorded a 2.64 ERA, a 1.07 WHIP and 74 strikeouts across 72 appearances and 58 innings during the regular season, according to his official MLB statistics.
His reliability makes his future an important question for the Dodgers as they evaluate their bullpen for 2027. Vesia has also delivered in October, posting a 1.59 ERA across 31 career postseason appearances.
The 30-year-old has been part of the Dodgers organization since 2021 and helped the club win two World Series championships. Losing a familiar left-handed reliever could leave the front office searching for another dependable option in high-leverage situations.
Vesia’s potential contract will also be worth watching. A Sports Illustrated report cited a Spotrac projection of a two-year, $14.2 million deal, although that figure is an estimate rather than a confirmed offer.
For now, Vesia has not confirmed that he is leaving Los Angeles. His message expresses gratitude while acknowledging an uncertain future, leaving Dodgers fans waiting to see whether he returns for another season.
