The Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has intensified sanitation operations along the Lekki-Epe Expressway, removing silt from road medians and evacuating waste from illegal dumpsites.
The Managing Director of LAWMA, Muyiwa Gbadegesin, disclosed this in a post on his official X account, noting that the agency’s street sanitation team was working at several locations along the busy corridor.
The affected areas include the LAMATA gate near Jubilee Bridge in Ajah, Igbokusu and Agungi.
Gbadegesin said the exercise was part of ongoing efforts to maintain cleanliness along the expressway, which connects several residential and commercial communities in Lagos.
He stressed that keeping the corridor clean required sustained maintenance and responsible waste disposal by residents and businesses.

The LAWMA chief urged residents to use their assigned Private Sector Participation (PSP) waste operators and desist from dumping refuse on roadsides and medians.
The agency is working with other state institutions, including the Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources and the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), to support environmental sanitation and maintain cleaner public spaces.
The operation forms part of broader efforts to tackle indiscriminate waste disposal and improve environmental conditions across Lagos.
