People can say a lot of negative things about the division rival showdown between the San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks, but one thing they can’t say?
That it was boring.
Along with sideline scuffles, players going down left and right with injuries, interceptions, Niners’ Mike Evans playing with two – count them TWO – broken ribs, there was also some classic smack talking… from the broken rib wide receiver.
During the Niners 32-29 win over the Seahawks, Seattle cornerback Trevon Diggs attempted to trash talk Evans and was brutally manhandled by a move that even one of the NFL’s biggest trolls fawned over.
When Diggs started tossing shade to Evans, the WR simply grabbed Diggs’ jersey, turned him around to glance at the name on the back to see who was doing the mocking. Diggs felt the diss immediately and smacked Evans’ hand away as the latter simply strutted away.
The quick exchange was so smooth that even Richard Sherman, former Seattle cornerback and the No. 1 trash-talker, well, ever, had to post about it.
“Mike Evans checking to see the name on the back of the jersey is an all-time GIF and trash talk moment that I wish I would have thought of.”
Major kudos right there.
Needless to say, people were obsessed with the move and plenty of GIFs were shared on social media taunting Diggs.
“Savage,” one person posted.
“Trevon Diggs is FUMING,” another added.
“’What’s your name?’” someone said.
“Rent free,” one person commented.
