Names of scripted television executives leaving as part of the ongoing Netflix layoffs, which are impacting about 1,000 employees, have started to emerge. Those departing include four Director-level execs — Lisa Lang McMullen, James Oh, Carolina Garcia and Andrew McQuinn — as well as a few Managers, including Dan Evans, Jason Pan and Aaron Davidson.
We will update the story if more names are confirmed; word is that all affected by the cuts have already been notified.
The group joins film executives Doug Belgrad and Sheroum Kim who also have departed.
Lang McMullen joined Netflix in 2021 as Director of Drama Series after 12 years at Disney. She was most recently Director, Overall Deals, Series at Netflix.

Oh also has been Director of Drama Series at Netflix since 2021. Prior to that, he was SVP at Jerry Bruckheimer Television.
McQuinn, Director, Original Series, came to Netflix in 2018. At the streamer, he has worked on such series as American Primeval, Griselda Zero Day and the upcoming Assassin’s Creed. Before that, he was at ABC Signature.
Garcia, Director of Original Series, is a 10-year Netflix veteran, having joined the streamer in 2016. She has worked on series like Stranger Things. Before that, she was at 20th Century Fox Television.

Pan is a Manager of Original Series; Davidson is Manager of Adult Animation Comedy; Evans is Manager of Original Animation.
The executive changes in Netflix’s scripted operation come as the streamer is searching for its next big hit that would capture the zeitgeist the way shows like Stranger Things, Squid Game, Bridgerton, Queen’s Gambit, Wednesday and Baby Reindeer have. It has been a year and a half since the last new series to have that level of cultural impact, Adolescence, came out.
This year, Netflix has found success with its latest Harlan Coben adaptation I Will Find You, which landed on the Most Popular English series list, and fellow limited series His & Hers, while many of its returning series have been posting season-to-season viewership declines.
The layoffs, which eliminate about 6% of Netflix’s global staff, are the streamer’s biggest round of job cuts in four years.
The product, tech, legal and HR teams are among the most impacted by the cuts, which have been expected as the company faces slower growth and increased competition.
