Jakarta (ANTARA) - The administration of President Prabowo Subianto has recorded an investment realization of Rp3,923.2 trillion (approximately US$217.9 billion) alongside the creation of 5.4 million jobs over its first two years in office, bolstering the national economy and industrialization.
Investment and Downstreaming Minister/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan Roeslani stated that the cumulative figure spans from the fourth quarter of 2024 through the third quarter of 2026.
“The total investment inflow reached Rp3,923.2 trillion, with 5,485,944 jobs created," Rosan said following a limited cabinet meeting at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday (October 19).
Detailing the source of capital, domestic direct investment comprised the largest share at Rp1,998.7 trillion (US$111 billion), while foreign direct investment closely followed at Rp1,924.5 trillion (US$106.9 billion).
The data also reflects an equitable distribution of national economic development, with regions outside Java capturing a higher share of Rp2,031 trillion (US$112.8 billion), or 51.8 percent, compared to Java's Rp1,892.2 trillion (US$105.1 billion), or 48.2 percent.
Moving forward, Rosan emphasized that the government remains firm on driving high-quality investments focused on downstream industrialization to deliver tangible, long-term economic impacts.
“What we seek from incoming investment is the development of downstream industries, which in turn fosters broader industrialization," Rosan emphasized.
To facilitate capital inflow and strengthen the national investment climate, the government is streamlining bureaucratic processes by integrating a licensing system across 28 ministries and agencies - aiming to provide legal certainty and time efficiency for investors.
"What investors look for, above all, is certainty. That is what we are trying to achieve - reducing uncertainty - whether in terms of licensing, timeframes or the overall investment climate," Rosan concluded.
