C-Edge College observes World Mental Health Day

Chümoukedima, October 11 (MExN): C-Edge College, Chümoukedima, observed World Mental Health Day at Daily Market, Naga United Village, on October 9, with a programme aimed at encouraging open conversations about mental health and reducing stigma surrounding mental health challenges. The programme was held under the theme “Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change.”Masangheing Zeliang, Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology, addressed the gathering on mental health, highlighting the importance of mental well-being and creating a supportive environment for people experiencing mental health challenges.The programme featured sharing sessions by Sneha of BBA V Semester and Kali of BA III Semester, along with a duet performance by Bendangsenla of BA V Semester and Suponginla of BA III Semester. Students also presented a drama highlighting mental health-related concerns, followed by a group song conveying messages of hope, solidarity and emotional support.The activities focused on personal experiences and the need for an environment where individuals can express themselves without fear of judgement, according to a college statement.Viyili Awomi, Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology, delivered the vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of those involved in organising the programme.The observance highlighted the role of educational institutions and communities in promoting mental health awareness, encouraging people to seek appropriate support and fostering greater understanding of those facing mental health challenges.
