Tanner Boser got Canada on the board at UFC Fight Night 291 after six straight losses to start the card.
Boser (23-11-1 MMA, 6-6 UFC) put on a grappling exhibition in Saturday's heavyweight bout vs. Jhonata Diniz (9-3 MMA, 3-3 UFC) in his hometown of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. He got takedowns in every round and threatened a finish before sealing the deal with a TKO finish at the 4:26 mark of Round 3 inside Rogers Place.

It was fitting that after an 0-6 run for Canadians, all by stoppage, the 35-year-old Boser was the one to get the job done. In the process, he got his first UFC victory since August 2023.
"I honestly can't put it into words," Boser said in his post-fight interview with Paul Felder. "I finally get to make my UFC Edmonton debut in front of you guys. I can't tell you how much that means to me. Thank you all for the support."
