MABS, a well-known cancer support foundation in Spain, is inviting residents and visitors in Mazarron to lace up their running shoes for the Carrera por la Vida, or the Race for Life, a charity race that will take place on Sunday, October 25. The event will combine sport and solidarity, bringing members of the community together to support the fight against cancer.
Join the MABS Carrera por la Vida: Two race distances for different fitness levels
Participants will be able to take on two distances in the race, welcoming people with different fitness levels and abilities. Runners can choose between a 4-kilometre route, and a longer, 8-kilometre option, allowing athletes to test themselves and less experienced runners to participate within their ability.
Entry fees, t-shirts and medals
The entry for the race costs €12 for adults and €6 for children under the age of 12, making the event accessible for families who want to support a good cause together. Additionally, every participant will receive a commemorative t-shirt, and those who complete the course will be awarded a medal.
The Race for Life is not only a physical activity for athletes and spectators, but will have a wider message of awareness for neighbours in the community affected by cancer. Charity sporting events like this also provide an opportunity for local communities to rally together behind an important cause.
How and when to participate in the Race for Life in Mazarron
Anyone interested in participating can download the registration form from the official MABS Cancer Support Foundation website at mabscancerfoundation.org. Whether taking on the 4km route, challenging themselves over 8km or joining with younger family members, the event offers a way to make exercise count for more than personal fitness.
The MABS Carrera por la Vida will take place on Sunday, October 25. With entry fees that go towards supporting a cause close to the community, organisers are encouraging the public to get involved and help make the day a celebration of community spirit, determination and solidarity.
