Charlotte Casiraghi was the epitome of elegance when she attended the premiere of the 2026-2027 season of the Paris Opera Ballet at the Palais Garnier.
Princess Caroline of Monaco's daughter returned to one of the biggest cultural dates on the Parisian social calendar, which she also attended last year, also dressed in black.

This time, the 40-year-old royal opted for a Chanel design, diamond earrings and a polished updo. Her look was a masterclass in sophisticated restraint, displaying a natural elegance reminiscent of her grandmother, Grace Kelly.
A black dress perfect for the occasion
The dress chosen by Charlotte was by Chanel and stood out for its clean lines, feminine silhouette and craftsmanship, letting the small details take centre stage. Midi-length and with straps, the design features a pronounced V-neckline and delicate sheer panels.
The flowing skirt cascaded into loose ruffles that move with the body without adding unnecessary volume.
The gorgeous dress was reminiscent of the 1920s style thanks to its flattering silhouette, and the black hue allows the sheer panels and small ruffles to stand out. She completed the look with classic black satin heels.

Dazzling jewellery to complete the look
The jewellery provided the perfect counterpoint to the apparent simplicity of the dress. Charlotte wore Chanel's Comète Couture climber earrings, crafted in 18-carat white gold and diamonds, a high-end piece with a price tag of $101,800 to match.
The statement pieces trace an upward path, allowing the sparkle of the diamonds to take centre stage. The Monegasque royal wore her hair in a low, sleek bun, with a finish reminiscent of ballet dancers.
Grace Kelly's legacy
You can't mention Charlotte Casiraghi's style without delving into her family legacy, although her elegance cannot be explained solely by her relation to Grace Kelly.

The princess of Monaco, who before becoming a member of royalty had built a career as a Hollywood actress, became associated with an image of sophistication that combined precise tailoring, clean-lined dresses and an understated femininity.
In 1960, Kelly was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the International Best Dressed List, a recognition that helps to understand the scale of her influence on fashion history.
Her style did not depend on accessories, but on choosing well: an eye-catching neckline, the cut of a skirt, a chic glove, a jewel or a hairstyle could be enough to create a recognisable image.

The relationship between simplicity and attention to detail remains one of the keys to her style legacy. Fashion has changed since the years when Grace Kelly became a princess, but the idea that elegance lies as much in the way a garment is worn as in the garment itself still holds true.
Charlotte shares a preference for timeless silhouettes with her grandmother. She has also maintained a close relationship with Chanel, working as an ambassador for them.
The family's connection with the French fashion house goes back a long way: Grace Kelly wore its designs on numerous occasions, and Princess Caroline of Monaco has also turned to the brand over the years.

The opening of the Paris Opera Ballet season is a special occasion because it brings together the entire company on the Palais Garnier stage, from the school's students to the principal dancers.
This year's programme included the traditional Défilé du Ballet, a new creation by Juliano Nuñes, and the addition to the repertoire of Vers un pays sage, by Jean-Christophe Maillot, and Busk, by Aszure Barton.
In this context, Charlotte's look seems particularly well chosen. The ballerina bun and the lightness of the fabric establish a natural dialogue with dance, while the haute couture jewellery matches the tone of the elegant Parisian evening.
