Groot Aub Clinic has received a permanent ambulance, a dedicated driver and a paramedic to improve access to emergency medical services in the community.
The service was received by the Windhoek Rural constituency councillor Willem Gariseb and City of Windhoek councillor Demetreo Beukes at a briefing held at the clinic on Monday.
The two councillors welcomed the ambulance team, saying the new service will improve access to emergency medical assistance for residents of Groot Aub and the Windhoek Rural community.
“It is a positive step in strengthening local healthcare support and improving the community’s ability to access emergency response services when needed,” Gariseb said on Monday.
The councillors thanked health authorities and stakeholders who contributed to making the service available. They also pledged to continue engaging authorities and advocating for improved healthcare services, infrastructure and other essential public services in the Windhoek Rural community.
“We extend our appreciation to the relevant health authorities and all stakeholders who contributed to making this service available to our community. We also welcome the ambulance team and wish them success as they undertake this important responsibility of serving our people,” Beukes said.
He said community leaders are committed to working towards a healthier, safer and better-served Groot Aub and Windhoek Rural community.
