The district administration has announced dry day on October 27, 29 and 30 as a preventive measure ahead of Thevar Jayanthi in Madurai district. According to a press release, District Collector Nishant Krishna has said all Tasmac outlets would remain closed on those dates. Similarly, other licence holders (FL1/FL2/FL3/FL3A/FL3AA/FL4A licencees & FL11) should also adhere to the dry day rules. Liquor bars should remain closed. Any violation or attempt to sell liquor during this period would be viewed seriously and police would enforce law strictly.
