(ANSA) - ROMA, 16 OTT - The Region of Tuscany has renewed its collaboration agreement with the Consulate General of Italy in San Francisco and Innovit, which connects Silicon Valley’s resources with the opportunities offered by Italian companies. The agreement—signed four years after the previous one—was signed by Consul General Massimo Carnelos, Regional Councilor for Productive Activities Leonardo Marras, and Vice President of the Regional Council Antonio Mazzeo.
For the fourth consecutive year, Innovit and the consulate hosted “Casa Toscana”: a week of in-depth discussions and networking opportunities, during which a group of emerging startups gained access to the knowledge, skills, and experience of Silicon Valley.
The goal is to contribute to the development of the regional economy and to promote Tuscany worldwide not only for its extraordinary artistic and culinary heritage, but also for its dynamic and innovative technology ecosystem, with centers of excellence in biotechnology, advanced manufacturing, and many other sectors.
During the week, Consul General Massimo Carnelos also accompanied part of the Tuscan delegation on a visit to Genentech, a pioneer in the biotechnology industry and a company with a significant Italian presence thanks to the contributions of Napoleone Ferrara and the many Italian professionals who work there today.
