Dogecoin Labs, a new organization announced on October 21, 2026, brings three DOGE-focused projects under a single banner: the MyDoge wallet, the DogeOS application layer and the payments-focused Such App. The stated goal is to move DOGE into payments, decentralized finance (DeFi), gaming and consumer apps.
What Dogecoin Labs actually brings together
Dogecoin Labs is backed by the Dogecoin Foundation. It is described as a joint effort between the Foundation and House of Doge.
CEO Jordan Jefferson co-founded both MyDoge and DogeOS, so two of the three projects were already in his orbit.
MyDoge is the consumer entry point. The wallet has more than 500,000 users, and its V3 update is designed to integrate apps built on DogeOS.
DogeOS is the developer layer. It is a zero-knowledge rollup that supports Ethereum-compatible smart contracts and lets developers use Dogecoin to pay transaction fees.
Such App handles the real-world side. It is built around self-custodial wallets and in-person QR code payments in DOGE, with some early beta features already live.
The testnet, the funding and the gaps
DogeOS opened its public testnet, named Chikyū, on September 30, 2026. Projects on the testnet reportedly include lending protocols, liquidity management tools, perpetual trading and stablecoin products.
No timeline has been announced for a DogeOS mainnet.
DogeOS raised $6.9 million in a seed round in May 2025, led by Polychain Capital.
Why Dogecoin needed an upgrade path
Dogecoin’s base ledger has always been deliberately simple, moving coins from one address to another and not much else. Without native smart contract support, DOGE has largely sat on the sidelines while other networks built lending markets, trading venues and stablecoin systems.
Dogecoin Labs says it intends to expand functionality while preserving the integrity and simplicity of the original Dogecoin ledger. The rollup design is how it plans to square that circle.
What this means for DOGE holders and builders
For holders, if DogeOS goes live and developers ship lending, trading and stablecoin apps, DOGE becomes a fee token for that activity. But utility only shows up in the numbers when users actually transact, and none of that happens on a testnet.
MyDoge’s user base of more than 500,000 gives builders a ready-made audience. Such App gives them a potential merchant-facing channel. DogeOS gives them the tools.
The key signals going forward are a DogeOS mainnet announcement, the number of testnet projects that actually migrate to live deployment, growth in MyDoge’s user count after the V3 integration, and whether Such App moves beyond its early beta features.
