Coupang Rocket Fresh said on the 14th that it is opening House of Taste, a gourmet section offering food from popular chefs and well-known restaurants across the country.
House of Taste sells about 800 food items from roughly 200 brands, including some 20 chef brands and about 140 restaurant brands. Featured brands include Byeokje Galbi, Table Popo and Nuwa.
The section also offers restaurant meal replacements developed with popular eateries. Coupang is exclusively selling products jointly developed with Palgakdo, a dining brand known for charcoal-grilled chicken galbi and specialty chicken cuts.
Ready-to-eat meals created with chefs Kim Ho-yoon, Kim Hoon, Lee Sung-hoon and Choi Sang-hyun will be released weekly through Nov. 8. The first batch includes beef noodle soup, squid-ink fresh pasta with XO sauce and shrimp, and gambas fried rice with garlic chips. Additional collaboration products reflecting each chef's style and recipes will follow.
A Coupang official said, "We will continue to introduce distinctive gourmet products so that customers can enjoy a wide range of dining experiences at home."
