Gus Bradley knows how Jonathan Taylor can turn a small opening into a problem for a defense.
The former Indianapolis Colts defensive coordinator now holds that position with the Tennessee Titans, putting him on the other side of Sunday’s AFC South matchup at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Speaking Thursday, Bradley mentioned the combination that makes Taylor difficult to contain.
“He’s a very patient runner, but if he sees an opening, he can hit it and it’s full speed. He can hit that 0-60 real fast,” Bradley said, via WKRN’s Julian Mininsohn.

Bradley coordinated Indianapolis’ defense from 2022 through 2024, giving him three seasons of sharing a practice field with Taylor before his eventual move to a division rival.
Taylor goes into Week 6 with 398 rushing yards and six touchdowns on 101 carries, averaging 3.9 yards per attempt.
Creating the avenues Bradley described will be critical to getting more out of its rushing attack for Indianapolis. Taylor’s ability to accelerate matters most when the blocking is good enough to zip to the second level.
Although Bradley understands the threat Taylor presents, the Colts will likely look to feed Taylor anyway.
