Zephyr Gallery in Silves will welcome American photographer Eric Roth for a special pop-up artist event on Saturday, October 24.
Running from 11am to 2pm, the event will give visitors the opportunity to meet the photographer, explore his work, and hear the stories behind it.
With more than 50 years of photographic experience, Roth has worked across architecture, interiors, landscapes and the moments of everyday life, building a portfolio centred on the people and places he encounters.
Since moving from the United States to the Algarve in 2021, his attention has increasingly turned towards Portugal, particularly its landscapes, culture and communities.
His work, he says, is driven by a desire to capture the “feeling of a place and the beauty of living there” – an approach which can be seen across his Portugal-focused photography.
Roth will be familiar to some The Resident readers. He is also a freelance photojournalist who contributes to The Resident, covering subjects including art, culture and the environment, and was featured earlier this year in an interview about his life and work in Portugal.
Zephyr Gallery describes itself as a space dedicated to contemporary art by international artists living and working in Portugal, combining rotating exhibitions with cultural events in the historic centre of Silves.
The gallery is located at Rua João de Deus 20-B, Silves.
