Sony is apparently once again opting for a high-quality aluminum chassis, offering both a 3.5 mm and a balanced 4.4 mm headphone jack. The bottom houses a USB-C port for charging, while the battery is said to provide 30 hours of music streaming or 40 hours of playback of locally stored music – meaning the battery lasts almost twice as long as in the previous model.
Sony is not only installing a faster processor, but also doubling the RAM to 8 GB. The internal storage is fairly limited at 64 GB, but can be expanded with a microSD card. Unsurprisingly, the Walkman NW-ZX900 also supports Bluetooth, including LC3 and Qualcomm aptX Adaptive. Despite the larger chassis, the display still measures 5 inches, but the resolution reportedly increases from 720p to 1080p. The Walkman is expected to ship with Android 16.
