Overview
Costco's October tech shelf includes a smart lock, a three-camera window bundle, open-ear headphones, and an AI-tracking gimbal.
The Yale Assure Lock 2 Touch carries the clearest verified discount, while the Shokz OpenTri price still needs confirming.
Member pricing, return terms, and warranty details vary by product, so each listing deserves a check before purchase.
A USD 100 price gap can make a deal look good. The real test is what comes with the price. Costco lists the Yale Assure Lock 2 Touch at USD 199.99. Yale's own list price is USD 299.99. The lock leads four tech finds for different needs. These cover home access, window monitoring, outdoor listening, and smartphone video creation.
Not every new arrival is a true bargain. The Wyze three-camera bundle stands out for its low cost per camera. The Hohem gimbal suits people who film often. The Shokz OpenTri needs a price check, as reported prices range from USD 159.99 to USD 189.99. Below is what each product offers, where the value lies and what to verify before buying.
Quick comparison
1. Yale Assure Lock 2 Touch: the clearest discount
The Yale Assure Lock 2 Touch Deadbolt is the one product here where both prices can be checked against a manufacturer's page. BGR reported the Costco price on October 3. A warehouse price tracker shows the same figure. The USD 299.99 mark is a list price, and street prices vary.
Entry works by fingerprint, keypad code, or the Yale Access app. Yale claims 99% fingerprint accuracy and recognition in under 0.5 seconds. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi allow remote locking, with Apple Home, Google Home, and Alexa support. Wi-Fi works on 2.4 GHz networks only. The lock fits doors from 1⅛ to 2¼ inches thick and carries ANSI/BHMA Grade 2 and IPX5 ratings.
Battery life deserves attention. BGR reports Yale's own figures of about 3 months with Wi-Fi on and 9 months on Bluetooth only. Some customers report faster drain. Buyers should measure the door thickness and confirm that the router's 2.4 GHz signal reaches the front door. The model number on the box should also match the Wi-Fi and fingerprint version in the listing.
2. Wyze Window Cam 3-pack: the low-cost way in
The USD 79.99 bundle works out to about USD 26.66 per camera. Wyze lists a single Window Cam at USD 34.98, so three would cost USD 104.94. That puts the saving near USD 25, though Wyze's current price should be confirmed. Costco's listing specs match the single camera.
Window cameras often struggle with glare from room lighting. These units mount with a special sticker that places the lens behind a cutout. SlashGear says this design cuts reflections.
Each indoor camera offers 1080p video, a 120-degree view, color night vision, two-way audio, and AI motion detection. Mounting is peel-and-stick, with a 10-foot power cable per camera.
Local recording needs a microSD card of up to 512 GB, sold separately. Wyze says no subscription is required. Optional paid plans add cloud recording and AI descriptive alerts. Wired cameras need an outlet near each window. They work indoors only, on window glass. At 1080p, distant detail looks softer than on Wyze's 2.5K Cam v4.
3. Shokz OpenTri: open-ear listening with its own storage
The Shokz OpenTri headphones are a new arrival with no confirmed discount. SlashGear reported USD 159.99 on October 9. A warehouse price tracker lists USD 189.99 for two colors at four warehouses. Both figures are reports, not a single current offer.
The design uses bone conduction with an open-ear fit and IP68 water and dust resistance. Costco highlights an MP3 mode for underwater use. Built-in 32 GB storage allows music without a phone. Bluetooth connects to two devices at once. SlashGear lists up to 9 hours of Bluetooth playback or 6 hours in MP3 mode.
Open-ear listening lets wearers hear more of their surroundings than sealed earbuds do. It does not make listening safe near traffic. Bone conduction also gives up some bass and can vibrate against the cheekbones at higher volumes. Fit is personal, so the headphone return policy deserves a read.
4. Hohem iSteady M7: solo filming with AI tracking
At USD 199.99, Costco is about USD 16 below the USD 215.99 sale price on Hohem's own store. That comparison holds before coupons, shipping, and tax.
Hohem's kit includes the AI tracker, fill light, remote, tripod, case, and cables, and Costco's box should match that list. Costco sells the M7 online only, at a member-only price, with a one-year warranty.
The real appeal is filming alone. A magnetic AI tracker follows people, objects and animals. BGR notes a built-in extension pole, a 500 g payload and three expansion ports. Phones 58 to 90 mm wide and 6.9 to 12.5 mm thick fit.
Battery life runs about 12 hours stationary, 8 hours with AI tracking and 3 to 4 hours with tracking and the fill light on. The unit weighs about 629 g. Pro Video Coalition calls it heavier than typical phone gimbals. Occasional filmmakers can skip it.
Before buying at Costco
Member prices on Costco electronics stay hidden from logged-out visitors. Signing in shows the real price. Non-members pay a 5% surcharge on Costco.com orders, according to The Motley Fool.
None of the four listings states which window applies. The return policy linked on each product page is the safer guide. Warranty terms differ too.
The Hohem listing states one year. Yale lists two years on its own store. Online and warehouse prices can also differ, as the OpenTri shows. The Hohem and Wyze products are sold online only.
Final verdict
The Yale Assure Lock 2 Touch is the strongest overall pick. Its Costco price is USD 100 below Yale's list price, provided the lock fits the door and the Wi-Fi network.
The Wyze 3-pack ranks second for windows with a good view and a nearby outlet. The Hohem gimbal ranks third and suits frequent filmmakers who accept the extra weight.
The Shokz OpenTri suits outdoor exercisers who want built-in storage, but its price needs confirmation first. Match each product to how often it will be used, then compare the final checkout price.
