Former EastEnders stars Shona McGarty and Tony Discipline are locked in, in a major way!
Tony made a super strong declaration earlier this week while supporting his lady at the opening of her new West End production, From The Heart, confirming that things were getting more serious between them by the day.
Shona has now also spoken out on the relationship, and spilled the tea on just how happy she is!
‘I’m really happy, I’ve honestly found my one, Tony is the ultimate gentleman and he treats me like a queen,’ she gushed.
Continuing on, she said: ‘He makes me laugh, he compliments me all the time and he genuinely wants me to do well, I just adore him, straight away, we’ve always liked each other.’
That’s when she matched his claim, and we can hear the wedding bells ringing!
While chatting to The Sun, she confirmed: ‘I’d marry him tomorrow! In my book of life, I’ve got all these chapters that are part of my story but now I’m at the chapter where I’ve found my one.’
Of course, this comes after Tony also spoke to The Sun at Shona’s premiere and was asked whether or not he’s planning to put a ring on it!
‘100% yeah, absolutely, that’s the love of my life. I’ve known her a long time. We’ve always had partners, so we never stepped over the line. But in the last year or so our chemistry has really come to light, she’s just the best woman in the world’
‘Her energy, she’s so funny, she makes me laugh every day. I’m a very lucky man, I’m a very lucky man to have her and she’s got a beautiful voice hasn’t she? I don’t want anyone else in my life. That’s my woman, that’s my soulmate.’
Speaking on his excitement to watch the show, Tony continued to heap praise on his lady: ‘I’ve seen the amount of effort she’s put in, I’ve seen the amount of training she’s put in and I know what a talent she is. And listen that’s my lady. So, I’m very excited and proud to watch her.’
Tony took to Instagram to share a picture of he and Shona on the red carpet prior to the opening, and a shot of Shona onstage, captioning the post: ‘What an opening show for From the Heart. I am so proud of you My Beautiful Shon. You was simply incredible up there last night. The Love Of My Life’, while Shona replied with: ‘My Love…’
After an intense period of speculation regarding their official status after a few Instagram stories, Shona hard-launched them as a couple with a sweet a TikTok, that saw them take on the accent challenge.
She captioned the clip: ‘accent challenge with my Man…@tony (God it feels so good to say that)’, giving definitive confirmation that she’d claimed Tony as her beau.
The day prior, Shona had uploaded a carousel of images to Instagram of the duo enjoying a couples holiday, captioning the post: ‘The best trip away with Mi Amor @tonydiscipline’, one of which showed them getting matching tattoos, which appear to be of a popped toaster, next to a pineapple and palm tree.
Tony himself replied in the comment section with: ‘Te Amo’.
As long-time EastEnders fans will recall, their on-screen characters Whitney Dean and Tyler Moon were in a relationship plagued with lies, deceit and cheating, which ultimately proved to be the catalyst for Tyler’s departure from the show in 2013.
Whitney became a stalwart of Albert Square, remaining on the show for a further 11 years before leaving the soap in 2024, returning for a one-off appearance this year.
During their time on the show, Tony had been in a relationship with Jacqueline Jossa, who still plays Lauren Branning on the soap.
Shona, meanwhile, had been in a relationship with Matt Lapinskas, who portrayed Tony’s on-screen brother, Anthony Moon.
