The best private dining rooms in London are sumptuous enough to rival castle banqueting halls and gilded spaces in iconic hotels around the world. They’re blissful havens where, just for a while, the hustle and bustle of the capital’s streets become a distant memory, as we savour art gallery-worthy dishes among the people we love the most. Some are favoured by cash-splashing celebrities who shun cocktail bars for a soiree behind closed doors, while others make unforgettable destinations for milestone birthdays. Whatever you’re looking for, we’ve rounded up the prettiest of the bunch.
The best private dining rooms in London

Ambassadors Clubhouse
Ambassadors Clubhouse, Piccadilly
JKS’ Ambassadors Clubhouse had the hottest tables in town when it opened its doors in 2024 and, judging by word on London’s streets, there are no signs of interest dying down. However, as couples feast on succulent chicken chops and pile tongue-tingling curries on plates in the main, jewellery-box dining spaces, larger groups opt to keep things more intimate in one of the several private dining rooms. The Jungli Room seats up to six, ideal for friendly reunions with a minimum spend starting at £400, while The Raja Rani Room offers space for 12 in a twinkling, candlelit setting. For summer soirees, there’s space for 40 seated or 60 standing on The Verandah.

The Itaian Greyhound
The Italian Greyhound, Marylebone
Private dining rooms often feel more suited for evening events – think plenty of dark wood, cosy corners and twinkling candlelight. The Italian Greyhound offers something a little bit different. Light and airy, this room is perfect for daytime events from long, giddy birthday lunches to celebratory events. There’s enough room to sit around 40 people, plus it has its own bar and terrace, so guests can spill outside in warmer weather. Food is traditional Italian – plates piled high with rigatoni and capaletti, crispy chicken Milanese and bubbling dishes of melanzane parmigiana – and there is an excellent wine list to boot. Those looking for a more laid-back option could book the semi-private area on the ground floor, perfectly positioned next to the bar but separate from the main dining area. Olivia Morelli

Dove
Dove, Notting Hill
You’ve probably heard of Dove. Jackson Boxer’s charming, buzzy Notting Hill bistro quickly found its way on to Londoners’ must-visit lists when it opened back in January 2025. What you might not know is that tucked beneath the restaurant is a seriously sexy dining den. Think low lighting, long tapered candles, dark wood and marble, with dusky fabric walls gathering at the ceiling to create a cosy, tented effect.
We start with chunks of fresh focaccia, plates of pickles and Basque salami, before settling in for a feast. The main course is perfection – tender roast chicken with a silky Café de Paris butter, and platters piled high with salty fries. But the real star of the show is the shared burger course: plates of Boxer’s now-famous burger land on the table to be divided and devoured.
The room seats 12, with a three-course shared menu starting at £60 per person and attentive staff on hand to make sure the drinks flow all evening. It’s a truly memorable spot to celebrate; for my 40th, surrounded by friends, it couldn’t have been more perfect! Sarah Allard

Spring
Spring, Covent Garden
Skye Gyngell’s award-winning restaurant deserves another accolade, for it’s home to one of the prettiest private dining rooms in London. Firstly, the location could hardly get any better – what better way to work up an appetite before a stroll through Covent Garden and into Somerset House, one of the capital’s most iconic attractions? Skye’s team create incredible waste-conscious dishes that reflect the seasons in dining spaces you’re more than happy to gawp up until plates land on tables. Choose a standing affair with canapés costing £12 for three or £18 for five per person, or take over a chic dining room for up to 36 guests.

Bob Bob Ricard City
Paul Winch-FurnessBob Bob Ricard, Soho
Bob Bob Ricard’s ‘Press for Champagne’ buttons took social media by storm when the restaurant first opened its doors. It’s treaded the line between novelty restaurant and glitzy dining spot extraordinarily well, and the Soho site, in particular, remains a go-to for foodies as glamorous as they are ravenous. Best of all, the full à la carte menu is available in the 20-cover private dining room, removing the need to offer limited options in favour of a lacklustre set menu.

One Club Row
One Club Row, Shoreditch
Crisp martinis, oysters, steak and a graffiti-lined Shoreditch backstreet… one of last year's best, and most talked-about, restaurant openings, One Club Row, brings New York glamour to the cool and cobbled east London streets. While downstairs you'll find the restaurant's restored Victorian pub called the Knave of Clubs, head upstairs and you'll reach the private dining space called The Apartment. True to its name, it was the previous owner's (Les Trois Garcons) actual apartment known for some particularly raucous house parties. Now, the party returns for up to 50 seated guests who can dine on the much-hyped One Club Row menu which includes their signature pickled jalapeno gougères, classic steak tartare with beef dripping bread and of course – plenty of martinis and Manhattans. Mayfair’s most intriguing restaurant houses a host of secret dining rooms for various soirees. There’s the Venetian-style Italian Room and Bar featuring Italian Verde Alpi green marble and artwork by De Chirico, or The Swiss Room, with a gorgeous hand-crafted oak floor and colourful pops, for seated groups of up to 14. Luca, Clerkenwell
It’s of little surprise that Clerkenwell’s bucket-list Italian restaurant houses one of the prettiest private dining rooms in London. Dedicated fans of the eatery’s Michelin-starred fare would prefer we gatekept this floral wonderland, but that’d be unfair. Round up a group of six to 20 foodies and devour dishes such as creamy tortellini, seafood sharing plates and, of course, Luca’s tiramisu.

Broadwick Soho
The Broadwick, Soho
The circus elephants gazing down on Soho’s streets set the tone of this intriguingly fabulous hotel and its dining spaces. The eighth-floor dining room, seating 28 guests, has seen its fair share of spectacular parties and industry events in the property’s short life, with floral tablescapes illuminated by candlelight and, weather prompting, the fireplace’s glow.

The Holland Park hideout is a strong contender for the prettiest restaurants in London, as anyone lucky enough to step inside can attest. Lello Favuzzi serves flavours inspired by his Sardinian hometown of Sassari, with seasonal flavours peppering impeccable pasta dishes and seafood delights. We couldn’t recommend this West African restaurant enough, whether you’re dining beside the French doors as they’re pulled open on balmy evenings or heading upstairs for an intimate get-together. The intimate space seats a maximum of 14 guests, who listen to the clinking below as the talented kitchen team rustles up lip-smacking menus in the kitchens below. Expect classic pub grub executed extremely well, from generous portions of fish and chips to flat iron steaks followed by indulgent helpings of sticky toffee pudding. Impala
Benjamin McMahonImpala, Soho
Breads from the wood oven, meats from the charcoal grill… you might be thinking that Soho's Impala is a little bit like the other trendy restaurants taking over London right now. But you'd be very mistaken – not least because said charcoal grill is being tempered by huge feathered fans as they do in Japan. Chef Meedu Saad (of Kiln) has fired up an incredibly unique mashup of North African and Mediterranean flavours with a global spin, drawing from childhood summers in Egypt and growing up with the Cypriot kebab houses of north London's Green Lanes.
The vibe is casual and cool. That's even more pronounced in the restaurant's private dining room that seats 8-14. Saad has written three menus, each with a choice of whole roast duck, wild seabass baked in bran, or cull yow chops with tail fat potatoes. Every menu opens with stacks of Impala's three wood fired breads and small plates for the table, followed by heaps of grilled sheftalia, beef short rib and sardines in vine leaves. Make sure you add a round of martinis for the table, served on ice. Tal Dekel Daks

Boundary, Shoreditch

Upstairs, there’s enough space for 64 seated on the first floor, where the dining room spills into Sparrow’s indoor garden, while communal dining for up to 25 is possible on the second floor.
