Students can also get up to 90% funding for AI, cloud, and cybersecurity courses.
The Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) is targeting 3,000 year-long internship opportunities over the next three years for information and digital technologies (IDT) students across ITEs, polytechnics, and autonomous universities.
The internships form part of TIP Alliance+ Bridge2Tech, a set of expanded initiatives to help IDT students strengthen their pathways from education into technology careers.
Co-designed by institutes of higher learning and employers, the internships will allow students to contribute to substantive projects, learn from experienced colleagues, and develop professional judgment that comes from real-world practice, according to IMDA.
The agency will provide funding support to encourage employers to participate.
Students will also have better access to industry-recognised courses and certifications through the Singapore Computer Society (SCS) Skills Pathways in AI, Cloud, and Cybersecurity.
Eligible students can receive IMDA funding support of up to 90% for eligible courses and certifications, subject to applicable caps.
The program also includes the Government Tech Domain Pathway, which aims to equip students with government-specific domain knowledge and understanding of public-service requirements.
Developed by SCS and the Government Technology Agency of Singapore, the pathway will be open for applications in November.
IMDA said similar pathways are being planned for other sectors.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW
Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.
Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.
We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.
If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
