La Liga outfit Real Betis have early this week announced a personnel setback in the club’s attacking ranks. This comes amid confirmation that Cucho Hernández is set for an incoming spell on the sidelines.
Frontman Cucho for his part featured from the off over the weekend, as Betis welcomed Barcelona to Seville for a La Liga clash.
When all was said and done, Manuel Pellegrini’s troops were condemned to the wrong side of a 5-2 result. Cucho, meanwhile, was hooked from proceedings just beyond the hour mark, replaced by summer signing Troy Parrott.
And as confirmed on Monday, this change came owing to an injury suffered by the Colombian earlier in the 2nd-half. As per a statement on Real Betis’ website:
‘Real Betis Balompié player Cucho Hernández suffered a muscle injury during Saturday’s match against FC Barcelona.
‘Tests he underwent this morning confirm that he has suffered damage to the left proximal soleus muscle. His reintegration into the group will depend on his progress.’
The aforementioned Troy Parrott is therefore expected to replace Cucho in the Verdiblancos’ frontline to face Feyenoord in the Champions League this week.
