Sir Bobby Charlton, Wayne Rooney, and David Beckham, among others, have all been touted as England’s best player of all time. However, Jude Bellingham recently described Three Lions captain Harry Kane as “the best England player to have worn the shirt” following his impressive form for the national team.
Kane scored in each of England’s four UEFA Nations League games, tallying six goals and one assist. The striker now tops the scoring charts in the competition, ahead of Lamine Yamal, Michael Olise, and Viktor Gyökeres, who share second spot with four goals each. Earning his 125th cap for the national team also tied him with legendary goalkeeper Peter Shilton as England’s most capped player of all time.
The 33-year-old striker’s exploits for the national team earned Kane the highest praise from fellow Three Lions teammate and Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham.
“I can only talk from my perspective and first and foremost he is an unbelievable human being. As a captain, as a man, he looks after every single person. He’s the one to take responsibility off the pitch. And on the pitch he’s the best England player to have worn the shirt. It’s an honour to play with him. He’s playing at a level that is unmatched. He’s scoring goals for fun, he’s dropping deep and playing passes in behind and contributing, making tackles and everything. He’s only getting better,” said Bellingham in an interview with ITV (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Kane is aging like a fine wine—and right now, he’s a bottle of 1945 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Grand Cru.
