Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have formally launched the Hajj and Umrah Welfare Scheme 2026 under the special directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry, offering five employees the opportunity to perform Hajj and four others to perform Umrah through a lucky draw.
A police official told APP on Sunday that applications had been invited from eligible police personnel, including officers from the rank of constable to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), as part of the department’s efforts to improve the welfare of its employees.
The official said the scheme had been introduced on the directions of IGP Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry to provide police personnel with an opportunity to perform religious journeys.
Under the scheme, five lucky employees will be selected for Hajj and four for Umrah (One employee will be selected through a lucky draw for Umrah every three months) He said interested employees could submit their applications through the prescribed procedure, adding that October 21, 2026, had been fixed as the last date for submission. The official said applications should be submitted to the SSP Headquarters Office before the deadline.
He said the scheme was part of the welfare measures being taken for police personnel who perform their duties in difficult conditions to protect the lives and property of citizens. IGP Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry has given special attention to the welfare of police officers and their families, with the aim of providing better facilities and support to serving personnel.
