Bayern Munich’s young and talented midfielder, Aleksandar Pavlović, has seen significant improvements in his form and performance, inviting praise from across the footballing world. Most notably, there have been some comparisons made to Spanish international Rodri.
The Ballon d’Or winner and current FC Barcelona player has been a remarkable player for some years now, especially during his time at Manchester City. Pavlović, while not having been active for as long, is also a very talented defensive midfielder. After being compared to Rodri and his skills, the German international was asked about it, captured by @iMiaSanMia.
“Everyone knows what a world-class defensive midfielder Rodri is. He didn’t win the Ballon d’Or for nothing. Naturally, it’s an honor to be compared to a player like him. I take that as motivation to achieve my goal—to keep improving and establish myself among the world’s elite,” responded Pavlović. Humility as always, right?
Not too long ago, it was rumored that Manchester City was interested in signing him, perhaps knowing that they might lose Rodri and wanting a viable, young replacement. Regardless, the move never happened, and they instead proceeded to sign Enzo Fernández. Looking back, it’s clear Bayern Munich is better off that way.
What do you think? Are the comparisons accurate? Let us know in the comments!
