Arsenal Transfer Latest: Nicolo Tresoldi Interest Grows as Striker Plans Take Shape
Arsenal’s striker planning is moving into sharper focus, with Sky Sports reporting that the club are “seriously interested” in Club Brugge forward Nicolo Tresoldi.
The wider picture around Arsenal’s recruitment remains important here. Mikel Arteta wanted to add a central striker previously, but a move for Julian Alvarez did not get over the line. That has left the position under continued review, even if other attacking areas are also under consideration in longer-term planning.
There is a clear conditional element to this developing situation. Arsenal’s next steps up front may depend heavily on Viktor Gyokeres and how his role evolves. Recent reporting has indicated uncertainty around his standing after slipping behind Kai Havertz in the pecking order, and that naturally has consequences for how aggressively Arsenal move in the market.
Nicolo Tresoldi Profile Fits Emerging Arsenal Need
Tresoldi’s numbers explain why Arsenal are paying attention. The 22-year-old has scored nine goals in 13 matches in all competitions this season and has also made a major impression in the Champions League, where he sits among the leading scorers. That follows a productive previous campaign in which he delivered 23 goals and nine assists.
Arsenal already know plenty about the attacking environment around him at Club Brugge. Tresoldi operated alongside Christos Tzolis, who has since made his own move to north London. That familiarity may help Arsenal’s internal assessments, particularly when judging whether Tresoldi’s output can translate into a more demanding setting.

Arsenal Transfer Strategy Still Leaves Room for Alternatives
Any move, if it advances, would likely be viewed through the lens of value as much as talent. A reported €20 million fee places Tresoldi in an interesting bracket, attractive enough to explore, but still significant for a player yet to prove himself in one of Europe’s top five leagues.
That is the central question. Arsenal need more cutting edge and more reliability in front of goal, but they also need certainty. Tresoldi appears to offer sharp movement, penalty-box instincts and upward momentum, though signing him as a direct answer to a major attacking problem would carry risk.
Alternative names remain in the background. Arsenal continue to be linked with Alvarez, while Bournemouth’s Eli Junior Kroupi is another player admired after an eye-catching rise. For now, Tresoldi belongs firmly in the conversation, and perhaps more seriously than before.
Our View
This feels like the kind of deal that could become very smart very quickly if Arsenal get the timing right. Tresoldi has the profile of a forward on the rise, and there is obvious appeal in moving before the price climbs beyond reach. At €20 million, the risk is manageable if the club believe the underlying data, movement and finishing quality are all pointing upwards.
There is still a nagging feeling that Arsenal need one more truly proven scorer to take the next step. That is why names like Alvarez will always excite people more. A title-chasing side does not want to miss on a key striker signing, especially when margins at the top are so small.
Even so, smart squads are built with a blend of certainties and emerging talent. Tresoldi looks like someone who could develop into a major asset under Arteta, particularly with creative players around him. If Arsenal see him as part of a broader attacking refresh rather than the only solution, this could be an excellent piece of business. The important thing now is clarity, decisiveness and making sure the next striker addition genuinely raises the level.
