Itanagar, October 22: Lance Naik Ebet Paloh, a soldier from Geku Kumku village in Arunachal Pradesh’s Upper Siang district, has made the supreme sacrifice while serving with the Indian Army’s Gajraj Corps.
The news of his death has plunged his native village and the wider Siang region into mourning. Paloh, son of Lom Paloh, is being remembered for his courage and dedication to the nation.
The Indian Army expressed grief over his loss, with Chief of Army Staff General Dhiraj Seth and personnel across ranks paying tribute to the fallen soldier. The Army also conveyed its condolences to the bereaved family and expressed solidarity with them during this difficult time.
Geku Mariyang MLA Oni Panyang also mourned Paloh’s death, saying the nation had lost a brave soldier and the region a courageous son whose sacrifice would never be forgotten.
The tragedy comes weeks after three Agniveers, Aditya Kumar, Kundan Kumar and Vinod Yadav went missing in flash floods in Arunachal Pradesh’s Dibang Valley on August 14 while deployed in forward areas. Their identities were later confirmed through DNA testing, and their mortal remains were repatriated to their respective hometowns. The Eastern Command had earlier paid homage to the three soldiers.
