Oppo has introduced the Pad Mini, featuring an 8.8-inch OLED display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, and an 8,000mAh battery in a slim 5.46mm body.
The compact Android tablet is designed to compete with Apple’s iPad mini, offering a high-refresh-rate display and flagship-level hardware in a smaller form factor.
The Oppo Pad Mini is priced at approximately $1,001 and will go on sale on October 29.
Design and Display
The Oppo Pad Mini features an 8.8-inch OLED display with a 2.5K resolution of 2520 × 1680 pixels and a 144Hz adaptive refresh rate.
The screen has a matte finish designed to reduce reflections and provide a paper-like writing experience when using a stylus.
It also supports up to 1,600 nits of peak brightness, although some reports suggest higher brightness levels in specific areas of the display.
Despite its large battery, the tablet measures just 5.46mm thick, making it suitable for one-handed use.
Performance and Software
The Pad Mini is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, manufactured using a 3nm process.
The tablet runs ColorOS 16 based on Android 16 and supports Wi-Fi 7 connectivity.
The combination of a high-end processor and compact display is intended to support gaming, entertainment, and productivity tasks.
Camera and Battery
The Oppo Pad Mini features a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing camera for photography and video calls.
It packs an 8,000mAh battery with support for 67W wired fast charging.
The battery capacity is relatively large for a tablet measuring just 5.46mm thick.
Price and Availability
The Oppo Pad Mini is priced at approximately $1,000.
It is available in a single configuration with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
