Malala has been openly vocal about his belief that the political arithmetic strongly favours a joint Sifuna-Gachagua ticket. In September, he pledged to commit all his energy to making the union happen. At the time, the DCP party leader was in the United States meeting Kenyans in the diaspora.
When Gachagua returned home, his first engagement was a meeting with Sifuna and the Linda Mwananchi team, with Malala present both in the open discussions and in the conversations held behind closed doors.
Malala's Triple M Mobilisation Plan
Beyond facilitating individual meetings, Malala has announced a broader political mobilisation drive he is calling it "Triple M," shorthand for the Mulima, Maa and Mulembe communities. The initiative is designed to lock in the Mount Kenya, Maasai and Mulembe blocs as a single political force.
He added that he intends to keep pushing until the alliance is secured.
"I'll be doing it everyday with all my energy until Mulima and Mulembe unite. And that will be the end of the elections because if number 1 and number two unite that is game over," Malala said.
How Malala Engineered the 2022 Ruto-Mudavadi Deal
The former Kakamega senator is drawing on a proven track record of high-stakes political brokerage.
In 2022, Malala was a central figure in the behind-the-scenes negotiations that brought Musalia Mudavadi into William Ruto's Kenya Kwanza alliance, a move widely described as the "earthquake moment" that reshaped that election cycle.
Malala recounted organising a series of late-night meetings between Mudavadi and Ruto, personally driving Mudavadi to some of those sessions. One such meeting took place at the home of Farouk Kibet.
As this happened, Mudavadi remained publicly aligned with the One Kenya Alliance alongside Kalonzo Musyoka and Gideon Moi.
A defining moment came on January 8, 2022, when Malala appeared at a Ruto rally in Eldoret wearing ANC colours at Mudavadi's request, even as some of his own aides warned him it was a costly move.
Malala's appearance raised immediate alarm within Mudavadi's circles, with ANC leadership publicly disowning him. However, Mudavadi remained mum.
The culmination came on January 23, 2022, when Ruto attended the ANC National Delegates Congress, an appearance secretly arranged by Mudavadi and Malala. Kalonzo and Gideon Moi, who were also at the event, walked out upon seeing Ruto arrive. This, it seems, is the blueprint that Malala intends to replicate.
