One of the best rivalries in the NFL renews on Monday Night Football when the Dallas Cowboys (2-4) go to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles (2-4). Philadelphia has been taking heat this week for how they treated Jalen Hurts and his blood clot injury, so the Eagles turn to Tanner McKee for a second straight game. Dallas will be on primetime for a third consecutive week. The Cowboys lost at home on Thursday Night Football to Tampa Bay (24-16) in Week 5, then lost on Sunday Night Football in Green Bay (23-13) last week, and now head to Philadelphia for Monday Night Football.
Dallas will be portrayed as one of the worst teams in the NFL if they lose a third straight primetime game, and I won’t argue. The Cowboys offense has 29 total points in the last two games and was outgained in yards in both contests. Dallas has 98 combined rushing yards in those two games and was slapped with 18 penalties, so not much is going right.
Because the run game has been so poor, Dak Prescott’s been forced to throw 96 pass attempts in the two losses and four of those have resulted in interceptions. The Eagles have had a banged-up secondary this season, so perhaps George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb could have big nights after totaling 15 receptions for 143 yards on 29 targets.
McKee and the Eagles offense struggled out of the gate versus Carolina last week. The Eagles lost 25-14 and punted on their first five possessions. Philadelphia is so thin at running back that only Dameon Pierce received carries (12) besides McKee’s one attempt. Philadelphia’s 13 runs were the second-fewest in the NFL this season. Saquon Barkley is questionable for MNF, but Tank Bigbsy and Will Shipley are both on IR. The Eagles defense will have to step up because the offense is one DeVonta Smith injury away from averaging 17 points per game or less the rest of the season.
Let’s dive into the numbers and see if we can’t find an additional sweat or two.

Expert picks & predictions for Cowboys at Eagles
Vaughn Dalzell (@VmoneySports) likes the Cowboys -4.5:
“Dallas lost on Thursday Night Football in primetime to Tampa Bay, then lost on Sunday Night Football to Green Bay, and for a third straight week, the Cowboys play on primetime; this time on Monday Night Football in Philadelphia. After two consecutive losses, the Cowboys should give the Eagles everything they have: which is basically Jaovnte Williams, George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb. Philadelphia will be without Jalen Hurts, and because of that, the Eagles might carry around a sense or feelign that this season could be a lost cause. In an up-in-the-air NFC East, Dallas can start to gain some time of control with a win.”

Quarterback matchup for Cowboys at Eagles
· Dallas: Dak Prescott – Prescott has thrown for one touchdown in four consecutive games and at least 258 yards in five-straight. Over the past four, Prescott has at least 40 pass attempts due to Dallas’ inability to run the ball. The Cowboys are a bottom three rushing offense in the league and because of that, Prescott has struggled when he’s under pressure, which feels pretty often. Prescott is completing 43.1% of his passes under pressure (30th) compared to 72.3% in a clean pocket (4th). Protection and obvious passing situations have been the two Achilles heels of this Cowboys offense. With 29 combined points in the last two games, I’d expect Prescott and the Dallas to look better at Philadelphia in their third-straight primetime game.
· Philadelphia: Tanner McKee – With Jalen Hurts out for the season, Tanner McKee takes over in the short term. McKee started against Carolina and threw for 215 yards and one touchdown on 26-of-45 (57.8%). The Eagles punted on their first five drives of the game and McKee went 9-of-18 for 52 yards. He settled in with a 10-play 78-yard drive before the half to make it 10-7 at the half, but three punts on the first four drives of the second half was the nail in the coffin. Saquon Barkley is questionable and if he’s out, the running game will be all on the legs and shoulders of Dameon Pierce again, which can only help McKee so much. McKee may be forced to throw 40-plus times a game, so I’d keep an eye on his passing attempts prop.
