The seizure occurred on September 12, 2026, during an inspection of a container identified as TIIU5055870 and declared under Bill of Entry (BOE) No. 41026792479.
According to details of the operation, officers discovered a black bag containing six Mini Gap pistols, one Bruni 96 automatic pistol, one Bruni Model 84 pistol and eight packs of blank cartridges, with each pack containing 50 cartridges.

The joint inspection involved officers from the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI), National Security and operators of the Takoradi Integrated Terminal.
The items were reportedly discovered in the presence of the declarant, Royal Frontline Logistics Limited, and the importer, Alhassan Musah.

Further examination of the container was suspended due to adverse weather conditions and the late hour. Authorities secured the container with seal numbers Y008621 and 216211, with a full physical examination scheduled for the following morning.
The seized weapons, ammunition and bag were subsequently transferred to the GRA Customs Division Collection Armoury under Seizure Notice No. 0027834 for safekeeping and further investigation.
