S-Oil (010950.KS) said on Oct. 16 that it is accepting applications through its official recruitment website for this year's open hiring of entry-level production workers. The deadline is Oct. 21.
The company is recruiting for production facility operations and for firefighting and emergency rescue. Those selected will work mainly at the Onsan refinery in Ulsan and other sites.
The production facility operations track is open to high school graduates, graduates of two-year and four-year colleges, and those scheduled to graduate by February next year. Preference goes to applicants who majored in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering or electrical and electronic engineering, or who hold related certifications. Holders of certifications in gas, hazardous materials and energy management also receive preference.
Applicants for the firefighting and emergency rescue track must hold a Level 1 or Level 2 emergency medical technician certification. Preference goes to those who majored in emergency medical services or have experience in firefighting and emergency rescue.
The selection process consists of a document screening, a written test, an artificial intelligence aptitude assessment and a first-round interview, followed by a second-round interview and a physical fitness test. Detailed eligibility requirements, job-specific criteria and the selection schedule are available on the S-Oil recruitment website.
After joining, new hires undergo group and on-site training followed by an evaluation that determines whether their employment contract is renewed. A further six months of on-site work and another evaluation determine whether they are converted to permanent employment.
"As we enter a new 50 years, we look forward to strong interest and applications from people who will help build S-Oil's stable operations and safety," a company official said.
