Pokémon is celebrating its 30th anniversary, and fans have another fun way to enjoy the series. Those who are unaware of the franchise’s history: in 1996, the first-ever game of the series debuted in Japan, named Pokémon Red and Green. Later, it was released globally with the name Pokémon Red and Blue. Since then, the franchise has received nine mainline entries, multiple spin-offs, sequels, and adaptations in other entertainment media.
Now Pokémon fans are waiting for the Generation 10 entry, but before that arrived the anniversary event. The Pokemon Company recently released a new Pokemon Home update that allows players of Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen to get a free Celebi. Apart from that, it will allow support for the Gen 3 ports on Switch and Switch 2, and add more storage space for premium accounts.
Apart from all that, a fan-made game called Daily Red gives players a fresh take on one of Pokémon’s most famous Gen 3 battles. The twist is that players can’t choose the same team every day. Instead, they have to work with a team that’s assigned to them. Every 24 hours, the Pokémon lineup shuffles, and players get a new team the next day.
Team Red is made of six renowned Pokémon: Pikachu, Espeon, Snorlax, Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise. Players must defeat them all with their daily team. The best part of Daily Red is that no two days need to feel the same. One day, players may get a team that works well against Red. On the other hand, they may have to work harder to find a winning plan. It also gives players a reason to learn more about Pokémon they may not usually use.

Smart Choices Matter More Than Favorite Pokémon
Winning is not just about having strong Pokémon. Type advantages can help players deal more damage, while the right moves can turn a tough fight around. Held items can give a Pokémon extra help, and switching at the right time can save a team member from being knocked out. The order of the team also matters. Players must decide which Pokémon should face Red’s Pikachu first and which to save for later.
Players cannot depend on their favorite team to win every time. They must study their options and make each move count. Daily Red gives fans a fresh reason to return to a classic battle. It shows that a smart plan can be just as important as a strong Pokémon.
