The physical keyboard is making a comeback, and the Clicks Communicator is one of the most interesting examples. This smartphone combines classic BlackBerry-style typing with modern Android software, 5G connectivity and a compact touchscreen.
Clicks Technology designed the Communicator for people who want to respond to messages, manage emails and complete work on their phones without getting distracted by endless scrolling. Its tactile keyboard, dedicated shortcuts and notification controls put communication first.
The phone is now listed at a regular price of $649, with shipping expected to begin in December 2026. Here’s everything you need to know about its specifications, features, expected price in Nepal and availability.
Clicks Communicator Overview: What Is It?
The Clicks Communicator is a standalone Android smartphone with a physical QWERTY-style keyboard beneath its touchscreen. It can work as a primary phone or as a secondary device alongside an iPhone, Samsung Galaxy or Google Pixel.
Unlike conventional smartphones, which rely entirely on an onscreen keyboard, the Communicator provides physical keys for typing. It also uses a compact 4.03-inch AMOLED display to keep the device small and focused on communication.
Moreover, the phone runs Android 17, allowing users to access Android apps rather than relying on a limited selection of messaging tools. Its Message Hub brings conversations from supported apps together, while programmable shortcuts help users reach important functions quickly.

Clicks Communicator Features
1. Physical Keyboard for Faster Typing
The Communicator’s main attraction is its physical keyboard. The tactile keys are designed to make typing feel more deliberate and comfortable than using an onscreen keyboard.
This layout could benefit people who regularly respond to emails, write longer messages or manage work conversations throughout the day. Physical keys also make it easier to type without covering part of the display.
In addition, the keyboard supports touch-sensitive navigation. Users can scroll through messages, inboxes and web pages without constantly touching the screen.
2. A Compact 4.03-Inch AMOLED Display
The phone features a 4.03-inch AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 1080 × 1200 pixels. Its compact size complements the physical keyboard and keeps the overall design smaller than most modern smartphones.
The display is intended for reading messages, checking notifications and using essential apps. However, its small size may not be ideal for people who frequently watch videos, play demanding mobile games or edit documents on their phones.
3. Android 17 With Access to Android Apps
Clicks Communicator runs Android 17, so users can install compatible Android applications rather than being restricted to a proprietary operating system.
That means the phone can support everyday communication, productivity and entertainment apps, subject to individual app compatibility.
Furthermore, the Message Hub is designed to bring conversations from supported messaging apps into a central location. Combined with keyboard shortcuts, this approach could make it easier to manage messages without navigating multiple apps repeatedly.
4. MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Processor
Clicks lists the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 as the phone’s processor. The 4nm platform supports modern mobile processing and 5G connectivity.
Paired with 12GB RAM, it should provide sufficient resources for everyday multitasking, communication and productivity applications.
However, actual performance will depend on the final software, thermal design and optimization. Independent reviews will be needed to assess sustained performance, gaming and battery efficiency.
5. 50MP Rear Camera With Optical Image Stabilization
The Communicator features a 50MP rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), alongside a 24MP front-facing camera.
OIS helps compensate for small hand movements, which can reduce blur in certain photographs and video recordings. The rear camera should be suitable for everyday photography, while the front camera can handle video calls and selfies.
Still, megapixel counts alone do not determine image quality. Sensor size, image processing, lens quality and low-light performance will all influence the final results.
6. Dedicated Voice Input and Recording Shortcut
The phone includes a dedicated Clicks Key that can provide quick access to selected functions. Clicks describes using a press-and-hold action for voice-to-text input, voice recording or meeting transcription.
This can be useful when typing is inconvenient, such as when taking notes during a meeting or quickly capturing an idea.
The exact experience may depend on the chosen app and software configuration, so users should verify which recording and transcription services are supported.
7. 4,350mAh Battery and Wireless Charging
Clicks lists a 4,350mAh lithium-ion battery for the current product specification. The phone supports USB-C charging and Qi2 wireless charging through its compatible Charging Cover.
The battery capacity looks reasonable for a compact smartphone, but the company has not yet provided a reliable final battery-life estimate. Screen usage, network conditions and background apps will influence endurance.
The inclusion of wireless charging is also notable for a device with a physical keyboard. However, buyers should confirm the exact charging accessories included with their order.
8. Expandable Storage and a 3.5mm Headphone Jack
The Communicator includes 256GB of internal storage and supports MicroSD expansion up to 2TB. This provides extra space for documents, photos, music and other files.
It also retains a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is useful for people who prefer wired earphones or want to avoid charging wireless audio accessories.
Together, these features make the phone practical for users who prioritize flexibility and productivity over a completely minimalist hardware design.
9. Customizable Notifications and Physical Controls
The Communicator includes a customizable signal LED that can alert users to selected people or apps. It also features a fingerprint sensor integrated into the spacebar area for unlocking the device.
Clicks has announced interchangeable back covers and keyboard layouts, including English QWERTY, French AZERTY, German QWERTZ, Korean and Arabic options.
These features give users more control over how the device looks, feels and communicates important notifications.
Clicks Communicator Performance
The Communicator is designed around communication and productivity rather than high-end gaming or media consumption.
- Multitasking: The Dimensity 8300 processor and 12GB RAM should support everyday messaging, email and productivity apps.
- Typing: Physical keys may improve comfort for users who frequently write longer messages.
- Gaming: Android app support provides access to games, but the compact display is less suited to extended gaming sessions.
- Battery life: The 4,350mAh lithium-ion battery offers a useful capacity, although real-world endurance remains unconfirmed.
- Storage: The 256GB internal storage and MicroSD expansion provide flexibility for work files and media.
- Everyday usability: The small display, dedicated shortcuts and Message Hub focus on reducing friction when handling communications.
Independent testing will be necessary to establish the phone’s real-world speed, camera quality, battery endurance and long-term reliability.
Clicks Communicator Design and Build Quality
The Clicks Communicator combines a compact touchscreen with a physical keyboard, creating a design reminiscent of classic BlackBerry phones.
It measures 130.5 × 78.63 × 12mm and weighs approximately 170g. The device is available in Smoke, Clover and Onyx color options, with interchangeable back covers for additional customization.
Clicks also includes a physical kill switch and brushed-aluminum side keys in its published design details. These features give the phone a distinctive look compared with modern touchscreen-only devices.
Nevertheless, its 12mm thickness and keyboard layout make it bulkier than many conventional smartphones. Buyers should consider whether the typing experience is worth the additional thickness and smaller display.
