A grieving father has shared an emotional farewell to his 20-year-old daughter, Christina, who died after taking MDMA at a party in Thessaloniki, Greece, as prosecutors pursue charges against a man arrested in connection with her death.
Konstantinos Adam posted a photograph of himself with his daughter on Facebook, accompanied by a deeply personal tribute expressing the family’s grief and the enduring love they hold for her.
“Safe travels, my little angel! There are no words for this pain,” he wrote.
“Thank you for the years you gave us by your side. For us, you will never leave and you never truly left. Rest in paradise, our daughter, our child! We love you. There is no goodbye for a love that never ends.”
In a subsequent post, Adam announced that Christina’s funeral would take place on Tuesday, October 13, at the Church of Saint Panteleimon in Kalamaria.
20-year-old man faces prosecution
Christina died on Saturday morning, October 10, after losing consciousness following the consumption of MDMA, also known as ecstasy, during a night out in Thessaloniki.
According to Greek media reports, Christina and a 20-year-old male friend obtained a quantity of a narcotic substance from an unidentified third party while at a club. Both reportedly consumed the substance before Christina collapsed.
She was rushed to hospital, where medical staff attempted to save her life. She subsequently died.
A prosecutor has filed felony charges of fatal exposure against the 20-year-old man arrested in connection with her death. He also faces misdemeanour charges relating to the procurement, possession and use of illegal substances.
The man has been referred to the 5th Special Narcotics Investigating Judge in Thessaloniki and remains in custody pending the hearing.
Separately, criminal charges have been brought against unidentified individuals over alleged aggravated drug trafficking involving substances capable of causing serious bodily harm or death. Police are continuing their investigation to identify the person who allegedly supplied the drug.
The allegations remain subject to the judicial process.
Father alleges daughter was pressured to take drugs
Speaking outside the courthouse to Greek broadcaster SKAI TV, Adam described receiving the devastating early-morning phone call informing him that his daughter had collapsed.
“I can’t believe what happened. I got a call at 5 in the morning telling me my child had collapsed after something was put in her drink,” he said.
He alleged that Christina had been pressured by her friend to take drugs.
“She went to the party with her friend. He was pushing her to take these substances,” he said.
Adam also claimed that his daughter had experienced a similar incident three years earlier, when substances were allegedly slipped into her drink at a club.
“Three years ago something similar happened, but back then we saved my daughter,” he said.
The father has vowed that his family will pursue accountability and seek answers about the circumstances surrounding Christina’s death.
His heartbreaking farewell comes as investigators work to establish exactly what happened during the night out and determine who supplied the substance.
For Christina’s family, the investigation continues amid an unimaginable loss, with a father’s words reflecting the pain of losing a daughter whose place in their lives, he says, will never disappear.
