South African media personality Anele Mdoda and her husband Prince Bonelela "Buzza James" Mgudlwa are finally ready to let the world in. Their wedding documentary, officially titled Stars and Vows: Anele & Buzza, is heading to Netflix on 13 November 2026, and the buzz around the premiere has already taken over social media.
The docu-soap promises fans a front-row seat to the couple's road to marriage, from the tension-filled lobola negotiations to the laughter and pressure of planning a high-profile wedding under public scrutiny. The show's official description teases more than just the romance: "Follow media darling Anele Mdoda and her royal fiancé Buzza James from pre-wedding celebrations and tense family moments to their long-awaited 'I do'" - a clear hint that family drama features prominently behind the scenes.
Inside the Making of Stars and Vows
The production is a collaboration between Dopezuluboi Productions and Brightfire Pictures. Acclaimed actress Nomzamo Mbatha serves as executive producer alongside Teddy Geldart, with Pascual Wakefield in the director's chair. The special covers the full arc of the couple's journey, including traditional Xhosa marriage rites that began in April 2025, before building to the white wedding ceremony in Cape Town.
Because Anele enforced a strict no-phone policy at the private ceremony, virtually no footage from the day has circulated publicly.
Anele and Buzza first stepped into the public eye as a couple in November 2024, when reports of the relationship began to surface. Their traditional Xhosa wedding ceremony followed in April 2025, but the full story of their union has remained largely untold - until now.
